Sydney has a long history of technical achievement. In this guide I intend to unwrap the artistic and historical aspect of Sydney's attractions to uncover the technical achievements of the people who built and lived in Sydney.

Sydney Powerhouse Museum

A celebration of technical achievement, the Powerhouse Museum has exhibits that will impress you, and are educational for children. With several steam engines on display including a working engine, the Powerhouse is interactive as you learn how stress is distributed under a load or how chocolate is made.

Located in Thirlmere, Trainworks houses a working museum of the New South Wales railways. Everything from early steam days to early diesel locomotives and early electric traction carriages is on display. During the winter Months (May to October) you can take a ride on a working steam train.
